Summer Band Camp - August 18-August 22 2025
  • Does my child need a physical?  Yes, send form to school, preferably on the 1st day of band camp. Physical form can be found here.
  • Do we need to be pre-registered?  Yes, registration information will be available in June. Camp is from 10am-4pm on the field behind the high school.
  • Is there a cost for Summer Band Camp?  No, there is no cost for the camp.
  • Are there any other costs? Yes, the fall marching fee is $200 (can be fundraised).​

Who are the Section Leaders?

​In the band classroom, students have the opportunity to accept leadership roles and honors in many ways.  

Section leaders are appointed by Mr. Henson and take on a large responsibility for making sure every member of the section (by instrument) has learned the music. Prior musical and leadership experience is required in order to be a section leader.
What Do I Wear?

Students will wear the band issued jacket, pants, and shako/plume provided (Full Dress). Students must provide and wear "Bus Clothes" under the uniform at all times. Bus Clothes consist of a t-shirt, tank top, athletic shorts or tights. Marching band shoes are required for each student and must be purchased or borrowed from the band. Students will provide and wear tall black socks for all marching band performances. "Full Dress" will be required for parades, competitions, and Homecoming. 
How Do I Raise Money?

Throughout the year, students will have opportunity to participate in several fundraising activities. See the Fundraising Page for details.
Home Football Games
  • The band plays at all home football games and playoffs
  • Football season (AKA Marching Band Season) is a great time to listen to the band
    • Where are the games?
      • OC Pioneer Stadium: 1417 12th St., Oregon City, OR 97045
    • When does my band student need to be at the stadium?
      • Call time is usually 6:15pm at the stadium
        • The students will be able to get a music stand when they arrive
        • The game begins at 7:00 PM
    • What is the cost?
      • No cost to students, they just need to bring their ASB card
      • Parents: the cost is $6.00 at the gate
      • Band does get a break during 3rd quarter, there is food available to purchase 
    • When is the game over?
      • Usually around 9 PM  
Marching Band Beach Retreat
  • What is the cost of retreat?
    • $75 (varies year to year) We work hard to keep the price as low as possible while still providing a fun and safe experience (students may used fundraised money)
  • When is retreat?
    • Retreat is September 27-29, 2024
  • Where is retreat?
    • A private camp at the beach
    • We ride a school bus to the beach
    • Meals are provided
      • Meals for special dietary needs are provided
    • Chaperones and teachers are present
  • What do we do at retreat?
    • Retreat is not only a great bonding activity, but also a music packed weekend of learning music and nailing down marching formations

Homecoming Parade and Game
  • When is homecoming?
  • October 4, 2024

    • Band will march in the OC Homecoming Parade  
      • The OC Homecoming parade starts at Gardiner Middle School and ends at Jackson Campus

  • Band will set up to play pep for the game
  • Band Boosters will provide a dinner to the band
    • Pizza, cookies and drinks
  • Band will perform the field show for the 1st time at the OCHS Homecoming game

We rotate between 2 spring trips in May every other year

  • May Trip 1: Band travels to Florence (May 17-18, 2025) 
    • Overnight stay at the beach
    • March in the Florence Parade
  • May Trip 2: Band travels to Victoria, Canada
    • 2 nights in Victoria
    • March in the Victoria Days Parade
    • Sightseeing: Including the Butchart Gardens, Downtown Victoria and more
  • Trip Costs
    • Cost TBD, but will include most meals, transportation, planned activities and lodging
    • Fundraised money may be used to pay for the trip
  • Chaperones
    • Must fill out a volunteer application yearly with the OC School District
      • Must be fingerprinted
      • Cost will be announced for each trip
    • Trips are dependent on scheduling and availability and acceptance of applications
      • As soon as a trip has been planned, students and parents will be notified
        • Usually through Booster Club meetings
