In the band classroom, students have the opportunity to accept leadership roles and honors in many ways. Band Council is an elected body of students who take on the various leadership roles needed to help the band succeed and to help promote band as a fun and welcoming community. Band Council students may be a participating member of any band. Duties may include, planning parties and social events, publicizing our performances, planning band tour, setting up and tearing down concert equipment, leading the class when Mr. Henson is absent, communicating with the Band Boosters, and assisting in fundraising efforts. the Band Council will meet once a month. Section leaders are appointed by Mr. Henson and take on a large responsibility for making sure every member of the section (by instrument) has learned the music. Prior musical and leadership experience is required in order to be a section leader. ExpectationsThe highest standards of behavior and respect on the bus, in the parade and at the game will be expected!!
Students must: 1. Be on their best manners at all times. 2. Bring their own band instruments and all music 3. Memorize the parade music 4. Wear the band uniform 5. Have a great time!!! |
